Episode: “WTF is an NFT?”

“Today, Explained” is one of my go-to daily news podcasts. I especially enjoy its easily digestible way of reporting the latest happenings. I highly recommend listening to this episode to everyone, who is looking for a simple, straightforward breakdown of: WTF an NFT is, why Jack Dorsey’s first tweet has been in the news this past week, and why NFTs are harmful for the environment.

🗳️ Politics

Podcast: The Weeds
Episode: “Is Gun Violence Fixable?”
Hosts: Matt Yglesias, Dara Lind & Jerusalem Demsas
Apple | Spotify | 🕰️ 1 hr 23 min | 🗓️ 03/24/2021

One of the topics that is currently discussed all over the world - once again, sadly. In the light of the horrible mass shootings in Atlanta and Boulder, the hosts of “The Weeds”  have a detailed discussion on gun violence. I appreciate this episode, because it goes beyond the surface and covers various aspects, from the history of gun violence in the United States, real policy solutions, media coverage and the correlation to political polarization.

🚀 Biz & Tech

The four industry veterans and close friends, aka the besties, get together on a weekly basis to discuss all things business, tech, politics, with a side of Poker talk. This episode is another very entertaining and lively discussion, covering a broad range of current topics, including biohacking, deep tech, and the changing venture capital landscape. A must listen for everyone, who wants to get firsthand insights into what’s being discussed in Silicon Valley.

💬 Culture & Society

Doesn’t it feel like someone or something is getting canceled every week? However, what’s the definition of cancellation and who is the decision maker? This week’s “The Argument” episode tries to find answers to exactly these questions. One of the guests, Will Wilkinson, was canceled himself due to a tweet, which makes this episode especially compelling.

🥑 Health

Podcast: The Daily - A New York Times Podcast
Episode: “The Cruel Reality of Long Covid-1‪9”
Host: Michael Barbaro
Guest: Pam Belluck | Health & Science Reporter | The New York Times
Apple | Spotify | 🕰️ 27 min | 🗓️ 03/22/2021

This has been one of the most fascinating and shocking episodes I have listened to this year. Michael Barbaro and Pam Belluck report on a 50-year old Covid patient, who experienced severe psychosis following his infection. Highly recommended if you are looking for a gripping narrative and excellent story telling.
