“In a country that’s not shocked by anything anymore, the unthinkable has happened.” With these words Brad Mielke introduces the “Start Here” episode that focuses on the assassination of Haiti’s president Jovenel Moïse. You’ll find out what is known about the people behind the attack and what the implications are for Haitians. 🗳️ Politics

Podcast: NPR Politics Podcast
Episode: “Six Months Later, There Is A Lot We Don't Know About The Attack On The Capitol”
Hosts: Tamara Keith, Kelsey Snell & Ryan Lucas
Apple | Spotify | 🕰️ 14 min | 🗓️ 07/06/2021

This week marks six months since the insurrection on the Capitol on January 6. I still remember vividly sitting in front of the TV, watching the attack unfolding for hours. Pictures many of us will never forget. This “NPR Politics Podcast” episode summarizes the latest news on the criminal investigations in connection with the storm of the Capitol and looks into the seemingly impossible task of a House committee.

🚀 Biz & Tech

Podcast: The Quest
Episode: “Gary Vaynerchuk - The GaryVee Story | YouTuber, Social Media, CEO, Entrepreneur, Mentor”
Host: Justin Kan
Guest: Gary Vaynerchuk
Apple | Spotify | 🕰️ 42 min | 🗓️ 07/06/2021

Justin Kan’s guest is none other than Gary Vaynerchuck aka GaryVee, one of the most known and at times polarizing figures in the social media cosmos. While his entrepreneurship story is inspiring, it’s been discussed at length before. However, this “The Quest” episode dives more onto personal topics, from vulnerability to materialism, which I found very refreshing. Both Justin and Gary have been pioneers in the field of content creation, which adds a certain mutual understanding to their conversation.

💬 Culture & Society

Podcast: Today, Explained
Episode: “Let’s Talk about Terror (Part I)”
Host: Sean Rameswaram
Guest: Deeyah Khan | Filmmaker
Apple | Spotify | 🕰️ 26 min | 🗓️ 07/06/2021

Personally, I found this “Today, Explained” episode the most captivating this week. Norwegian filmmaker Deeyah Khan tells her story of investigating white supremacy and the people behind it. After receiving multiple death threats for being outspoken about multiculturalism, Deeyah Khan decided to travel to Detroit to meet up with some of the country’s most prominent far-right leaders with the intention to understand their reasons for being part of the movement. A fascinating story with some surprising turns that made me want to watch the full documentary “White Right: Meeting the Enemy”.

💪 Self-Improvement

Podcast: The School of Greatness
Episode: “Lindsey Vonn: Discover Your Potential, Destroy Self-Doubt & Develop Habits for Success”
Host: Lewis Howes
Guest: Lindsey Vonn | Former Ski Racer
Apple | Spotify | 🕰️ 59 min | 🗓️ 07/05/2021

If you grew up skiing and watching it on TV, like I did, you most likely know who Lindsey Vonn is. In this week’s “The School of Greatness” episode, the most decorated American ski racer in history sits down with Lewis Howes to talk about more than sports. Amongst the topics they discuss are, perseverance, self-doubt, transitioning careers, habits for success and happiness and more. Winter sports fan or not, it’s worth a listen!
